The 'Gambia is Good' farm is a great example of holidaymakers being able to experience the freshest local food on offer!
We worked with an NGO called Concern Universal to help local farmers develop links with hotels.
Almost £175,000 has gone directly into the hands of Gambian farmers, by selling more than 500 tonnes of locally grown produce to hotels, which has been served to holidaymakers.
Whether you are visiting The Gambia, or another destination, find out if your hotel is serving local produce. Choose to eat in restaurants serving local food...as well as being served fresh, in season produce, you'll be helping local farmers to benefit from tourism.
